Yeshua the Word of the Lord

Nebuchadnezzar carried the inhabitants of Jerusalem and Judah captive to Babylon in 586 bc. The language of everyday life in Assyria and Babylon was Aramaic not Hebrew. While the Jews were in exile, the Hebrew language became nearly extinct and the main language spoken was Aramaic. The Targums are an explanation of the Hebrew Scriptures in Aramaic for the benefit of those Jews who had partially or completely ceased to understand Hebrew. The Targums are the Aramaic interpretation of the Hebrew scriptures.
We will see that where the scripture text says Yahweh or Yahweh Elohim, the Targums will often render or interpret that as the “Word of the Lord”. We will be examining what the Targums have to say about the “Word of the Lord”.
The two most popular Targumim are Onkelos and Jonathan ben Uzziel. Historically, they have been regarded as authorative by the Jewish people and have been read in the synagogues as an interpretation of the Torah and the Prophets. The Targumim explain that the 'Word of YHVH'' created the heavens and earth, was in the Garden of Eden, made covenant with Abraham and gave the Torah at Mount Sinai. The 'Word of YHVH' redeems Israel, forgives sin, hears prayers, makes intercession, judges the whole earth and is worshipped. These things parallel Yeshua in the New Testament. From this perspective, we can answer the question, "Is Yeshua YHVH?".

With each subject, you can either watch a full length video teaching on each course OR listen to same course in shorter 25 minute audio segments.
After you have watched the video or listened to the audio, there is an online quiz with in-depth study questions so you can dig deeper into the scriptures with each lesson.
You can take the courses online to receive ribbon points for completing a course and badge points for completing a subject.
When you complete all courses and all subjects, you can receive a
certificate of completion. This certificate is equivalent to a bachelor's or master's degree in Hebraic studies. We will be looking into college accreditation for the program in the future for those who desire to have this.
Alternatively, if you are a Pastor or home group leader, you can lead your home group or congregation through the questions in a small group discussion format.
